This is a Low Carb version of a West Coast IPA. It is based upon a recent article in "Brew Your Own" magazine.

Yeast: | WLP 001 California Ale Yeast. Didn't have time for a starter. | |||||||
Log: | Brewed on 8/3/03. 8/08/03: Racked to secondary and added 4 crushed "Beano" tablets. Added dry hops, 1 oz. Galena. Started fermenting again after about 24 hours. Active fermentation for another 7 days. 8/16/03: In the original recipe the FG was supposed to be 1.018, when this secondary fermentation was complete the FG was 1.006! The Beano tablets increased the alcohol content by 1.6% ! The beer looks normal, will rack to a tertiary today and add gelatin prior to bottling since it is a bit cloudy right now. |
