The Beer Recipator

J's NYE APA

I converted a local brew masters APA recipe from all-grain too a partial mash, essentially replacing 6 lbs of 2-row with 3 lbs DME (which seemed too little), but the recipator gave me the proper OG with this amount. After brewing I actually came up high on the OG (1.067), which would give a mash eff. of over 85% which is crazy even for a PM. Nonetheless, the OG was high. I changed the mash eff. from 65% to 85% and removed a lb of DME to adjust the OG to the proper range. Still 2 lbs of DME for 6 lbs of 2-row seems too low to me.
