ApriCat Wheat

This is a very full tasting apricot ale, full of fruit flavor and taste. It is a wonderful beer to enjoy after mowing the lawn, as it is refreshing as well as thirst quentioning!

Bitterness: 19 IBU
OG: 1.067 FG: 1.030
Alcohol: 4.8% v/v (3.8% w/w)
Water: None
Grain: 1 lb. Flaked wheat
Steep: Grains steeped until boil.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.096 3.5 gallons
7 lb. Light malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
8 oz. Wheat extract
Note the 7 lbs LME was wheat malt extract.
Hops: 2 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Hallertauer (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs American Hefeweizen WSP320
At the time I pitched the yeast is when I also added the 4 lbs of apricot pie filling I bought from my local Giant Eagle bakery.

ABV was 4.7%, this is low as normally it is around 6-7%
Carbonation: 5 oz priming sugar
Tasting: Very distinct apricot flavor and nice orange glow.
