Hook em' Horns

This is a celabration stout for the 2005 Rose Boal bound Longhorns!
Made the day after the big 12 chamionship .
To be opened on the night of the Rose Boal.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons

132 HCU (~42 SRM)
Bitterness: 30 IBU
OG: 1.058 FG: 1.018
Alcohol: 5.1% v/v (4.0% w/w)
Water: NONE Walton tap water .2nd best state tested water in the state of NE.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 60L
.25 lb. Belgian Special B
.25 lb. American chocolate
.25 lb. American black patent
.25 lb. Roasted barley
Steep: 30 min at 150 to 154
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.096 3 gallons
3.3 lb. Dark malt extract
3 lb. Amber dry malt extract
NONE
Hops: 1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: british ale Yeast
Smack pack .1098
Log: I gust brewed it and put in the cellar at 67 degrees. I will post an update on this beer, I opend this beer on the Rose boal night and it was great!! not to sweet not to dry .Lots of roasted flavor some big cofee notes.Overal smooth with a creamy top. I drank this untill the horns pulled the upset . NATIONAL CHAMP RECIPE!!!
Carbonation: Plan to bottle condition with 1 cup dry malt
Tasting: I will post an update on this beer and should have it in the bottle at the time of the 2005 Rose Boal! Check the log for tasting notes

UPDATE: this beer has a creamy top . very well rounded with not that much roasted flavor. I had a state judge tast it and he said it was flawless in his opinion.
