Beer: Thanksgiving Ale Style: American Amber Ale
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
26 HCU (~14 SRM)
Bitterness: 15 IBU
OG: 1.057 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.9% v/v (4.7% w/w)
Water: Add a teaspoon of gypsum if you like.
Grain: 0.75 lb. American Crystal 40L
0.5 lb. Belgian CaraVienne
0.125 lb. American Chocolate
Steep: Steep grains for 45 minutes @ 155° - 160° F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.057 5 gallons
6 lb. Light LME
1 lb. Light DME
Add 1 teaspoon of flaked Irish Moss the last 15 minutes of the boil.
Add 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice with the aroma hops.
Hops: 1 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #1028 (London Ale) or White Labs WLP002 (English Ale)
Carbonation: Bottle using corn sugar or force carbonate in a keg.
