Alcohol: 5.6% v/v (4.4% w/w)
Water: Bottled water.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 60L
1 lb. Roasted barley
4 oz. Raw barley
Steep: Steeped all grain for 30 minutes at 158°.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.096 3 gallons
7 lb. Amber malt extract
Added tsp of Irish Moss at 15 minutes.
Hops: 2 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (5% AA, 30 min.)
1 oz. Willamette (aroma)
Yeast: White Labs Liquid American Ale. WLP060
Log: Brewed 12/28/05.
Primary ferment; 7 days @ 68°.
Second ferment; 11 days @ 68°.
Bottled 1/15/06.
Carbonation: 3/4 cup corn sugar.
Tasting: Beer had a smooth, toasty nutty taste.
Didn't fully carbonate until 3 weeks.
Enjoyed this very much but could use a little more bitterness and hop aroma.
