Steep: 35 minutes at 68°C
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.066 15 liters
3kg Light malt extract
Hops: 45g Challenger (7% AA, 60 min.)
15g Hallertauer Hersbrucker (3.7% AA, 30 min.)
30g Hallertauer Hersbrucker (3.7% AA, 5 min.)
Yeast: wyeast 1338 no starter
Log: fermentation between 19-21°C
primary 14 days then bottled.
Carbonation: 2.5 volumes Dried Malt Extract: 216g for 19 liters @ 20°C
Tasting: I was actually trying to land somewhere in between an APA and an ALTBIER because i wanted to use this yeast. I guess that's what it is. Overall good, but I would go for more hop flavor and aroma next time.
