P-P (Phils Pale)

an attempt at a clean fresh lager sustitute for bitter drinkers that is easy on the palate but not too strong (or expensive)

Bitterness: 38 IBU
OG: 1.044 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 4.4% v/v (3.5% w/w)
Water: I'm Lucky - I live in staffordshire england so the water is just fine for this beer
Grain: 3kg British pale
250g British amber
Mash: 80% efficiency
all in & boil it for 60 minutes as close to 100° C as possible covered - adding 50g of dried elderflowers at 30 minutes to add a flowery finish gives hint of citrus too
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.074 3 Imp. gal.
500g Brown sugar
Hops: 50g Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
25g Kent Goldings (5% AA, 45 min.)
25g Kent Goldings (5% AA, 30 min.)
25g Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Garvin ale yeast
Log: ferment at approx 20°C
Carbonation: 100g glucose power after racking
