Oatmeal Stout

Figured it was time for us to make an oatmeal stout, as they're (I guess) really common among homebrewers. Anyways, here goes!

Brewer: Mike and Eric Email: -

Beer: Oatmeal Stout Style: Oatmeal Stout
Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
165 HCU (~49 SRM)
Bitterness: 38 IBU
OG: 1.051 FG: 1.020
Alcohol: 4.1% v/v (3.2% w/w)
Grain: 0.5 lb. American crystal 60L
.375 lb. American chocolate
.75 lb. American black patent
.5 lb. Roasted barley
1.5 lb. Rolled oats
Steep: Steeped in five mueslin bags while boiling. When it came to a boil, we removed the bags and rinsed into the boil with clean water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.040 6.5 gallons
3.3 lb. Light malt extract
2 lb. Light dry malt extract
At T-15 minutes we added 1 teaspoon of Irish Moss.
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (5.7% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4% AA, 45 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4% AA, 30 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (4% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Fuggles (aroma)
Yeast: Used a Whitelabs Irish Ale liquid yeast. No starter, no proofing, just dumped the vial into the primary.
Log: Two weeks in primary, racked to secondary for another two weeks.
Carbonation: Used 8oz Light DME for priming.
Tasting: Absolutely sublime. Chocolatey aroma, bit of a nutty flavor, velvety mouthfeel typical of oatmeal stouts. Clean finish. I'm quite proud.
