Bitterness: 11 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.010
Alcohol: 5.5% v/v (4.3% w/w)
Water: none, city water
Grain: 6 lb. 0 oz. American 2-row
2 lb. 0 oz. British pale
1 lb. 0 oz. Belgian aromatic
0 lb. 2 oz. Belgian chocolate
1 lb. 8 oz. Oats (raw)
Mash: 74% efficiency
cereal mash: 1# of the grain plus oats added to separate boilpot.Bring to a boil very slowly, and boil 60 minutes.
Mash:
152 °rest/120 mins/165 °strike water/3 gallons
add cereal mash for a 162 °rest/30 minutes
mash out @180 °/15 minutes
sparge to collect 7.5 gallons
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.038 7.5 gallons
Irish moss @ 10 minutes
Added the following at flameout:
2oz cinnamon chips
3oz cacao nibs
2oz chicory root (ground)
2 TBSP vanilla bean paste
Note: second addition of hops were glacier
Hops: .5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 60 min.)
1.0 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: From previous batch-nottingham origin
Log: preboil 1.044
sg 1.052
ferm temp 68 °
Carbonation: 2.6 volumes Corn Sugar: 4.67 oz. for 5.0 gallons @ 68°F
going to bottle condition this one. Might help the spices out?
