summertime ale
an easy, quick turnover type of beer for when you need a good brew to drink but don't want to wait through a long aging period......very pleasing & drinkable on a hot summer day...(hence the name)

Log: | brewed on 7-20-97......primary ferment in glass 6 1/2 gal. carboy for 3 days at 72 deg. f.........racked to 5 1/2 gal. plastic carboy on 7-23-97......secondary ferment for 10 days......bottled on 8-2-97 w/ 1/2 cop of corn sugar.....very drinkable in 10-14 days.....this is a quick one, but a good one! | |||||||

Tasting: | very clear.dark gold colour.....moderately hoppy, with a slightly sweet malt balance.....excellent carbonation....thick, white head......if i'd make any changes next time, it would be a bit more hops in both the boil & flavor/aroma, maybe even a bit of dry-hopping(i'm a certified hop-head) |
