Alcohol: 6.5% v/v (5.1% w/w)
Grain: 1.0 lb. American crystal 60L
1.0 lb. American chocolate
0.5 lb. American black patent
Steep: Steeped at 165° for 45 minutes and sparged with 2 gallons of 170° water.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.121 3 gallons
5 lb. Amber dry malt extract
2 lb. Dark dry malt extract
8 oz. Molasses
Added 1/4 cup of whole coffee beans for final 10 min. of boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Centennial (10.5% AA, 30 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 15 min.)
.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: WYeast RTP 1084
Carbonation: 2.0 volumes Corn Sugar: 3.54 oz. for 5.8 gallons @ 68°F
Tasting: Very dark and very tasty after about 2 months in the bottle. I think that this one is going to keep getting better!
