German Spiced Ale

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
16 HCU (~10 SRM)
Bitterness: 26 IBU
OG: 1.052 FG: 1.011
Alcohol: 5.4% v/v (4.2% w/w)
Water: Add a teaspoon or so of gypsum if you like.
Grain: 1 lb. American Vienna
1 lb. American Crystal 40L
1 lb. Flaked Barley
Steep: Steep grains for the typical 45 minutes @ 155° F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.052 5 gallons
6 lb. Light LME
Add 1 oz of Coriander with 30 minutes left in the boil.
Add 0.5 oz of Ginger Root with 30 minutes left in the boil.
Add 0.5 oz of Orange Zest the last 15 minutes of the boil.
Add 1 teaspoon of flaked Irish Moss the last 15 minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 60 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (6% AA, 45 min.)
0.5 oz. Cascade (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #1007 German
Carbonation: Bottle using corn sugar or force carbonate in a keg.
