Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
32 HCU (~16 SRM)
Bitterness: 31 IBU
OG: 1.044 FG: 1.014
Alcohol: 3.8% v/v (3.0% w/w)
Water: Add a teaspoon or so of gypsum if you like.
Grain: 6 oz. Belgian Aromatic
10 oz. American Crystal 60L
3 oz. American Crystal 120L
1 oz. American Chocolate
Steep: Steep grains for the typical 45 minutes @ 155° F.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.036 6 gallons
3 lb. Light LME
2 lb. Amber DME
Add 1 teaspoon of flaked Irish Moss the last 15 minutes of the boil.
Hops: 1 oz. Fuggles (4.75% AA, 60 min.)
1 oz. Kent Goldings (5% AA, 15 min.)
2 oz. Kent Goldings (aroma)
Yeast: Wyeast #1098 British Ale Yeast
White Labs WLP005 British Ale Yeast
Log: Add two ounces of medium toast American oak chips when pitching yeast.
One ounce of the aroma hops is a dry hop to the secondary added with an additional one ounce of medium toast American oak chips.
Carbonation: Bottle using corn sugar or force carbonae in a keg.
