Rylee's Red Test 1

This is the first attempt at a recipe to serve at my upcoming wedding. It is supposed to be an irish red but judging by the color of the wort it is more like a brown ale. Maybe less roasted barley next time.

Type: Extract w/grain Size: 5 gallons
Color:
76 HCU (~29 SRM)
Bitterness: 13 IBU
OG: 1.062 FG: -
Alcohol: -
Water: I used spring water and added 1/4 tsp gypsum at begining of boil and 1/4 tsp Super Moss 45 minutes later.
Grain: 1 lb. American crystal 20L
8 oz. Belgian CaraMunich
8 oz. Roasted barley
Steep: Brought steeping water to 175° and turned off heat. Added steeping grains for 20 minutes.
Boil: 60 minutes SG 1.156 2 gallons
3 lb. 4 oz. Light malt extract
3 lb. 4 oz. Amber malt extract
1 lb. Light dry malt extract
Hops: 1.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.4% AA, 60 min.)
.5 oz. Kent Goldings (5.4% AA, 30 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast Irish Ale
Log: Brewed 2/21/09. Fermenting at 74°
Carbonation: 2.9 volumes Corn Sugar: 5.01 oz. for 4.5 gallons @ 75°F
