Yeast: | WLP007 -- repitched atop yeast cake from a honey porter (OG of porter: 1.068). | |||||||
Log: | Brewed on 11/7/09. The malt extract and blackstrap molasses are not added to the boil; they are boiled, cooled, and added to the fermenting beer in three installments during the first three days of primary fermentation. Oxygen is added to the beer (via hepa filter, stainless steel diffusion stone, and aquarium pump) for 10 minutes following the three daily sugar additions. | |||||||
Carbonation: | Primed bottles with 3/4 cup table sugar boiled in minimal water for five minutes. |
