Channy's Wheat Beer
i tried to make my wife a mildly bitter wheat beer that she would enjoy while making a brew that my band mates and I could enjoy too. I added some raspberry extract to a small portion for her as well.

Steep: | Heat water to 150f degrees and steep grains in a muslim bag for 30 mins. | |||||||
Boil: | 60 minutes | SG 1.130 | 2 gallons | |||||
6 lb. Wheat extract 8 oz. Honey |

no irish moss. I think a cloudy beer might be best on this one. | ||||||||
Hops: | .5 oz. Hallertauer (4.25% AA, 45 min.) .5 oz. Hallertauer (aroma) |

Yeast: | coopers brewing yeast. Dry. Boil 1 cup of water at last 20mins of boil and cool to 75 degrees and hydrate yeast and cover with foil. Yeast should smell doughy after a few mins. Pitch yeast when wort cools to 70-79 degrees. do not stir. | |||||||
Log: | Add honey at last 15mins of the boil. | |||||||
Carbonation: | 2.3 volumes | Keg: 8.7 psi @ 37°F |
