Pat's Porter

This was my first attempt at using a partial mash recipe. Used a
recipe from a book, but had to substitute a few items because my local
store didn't have what I needed. Even so, this beer turned out to
be well worth the effort.

Bitterness: 21 IBU

Alcohol: 5.0% v/v (3.9% w/w)
Grain: 1.5 lb. American 2-row
1 lb. American Munich
.5 lb. American victory
.75 lb. American crystal 60L
1 lb. American crystal 90L
1 lb. American chocolate
.25 lb. American black patent
Mash: 60% efficiency
156°F 60 min.
Sparge with 2.5 gallons water and collect about 3 gallons runoff.
Boil: 75 minutes SG 1.089 3 gallons
4 lb. 0 oz. Amber malt extract
1/4 tsp. Irish moss (10 min.)
Hops: 1.25 oz. Fuggles (5% AA, 75 min.)
.5 oz. Tettnanger (5% AA, 45 min.)
Yeast: Wyeast #1056
Log: Racked to secondary after 5 days. Added 5 oz. priming (corn) sugar
and bottled after 9 days total
