Pre-Prohibition Pilsner
This is one of the cleanest tasting, most "in sytle" homebrews that
our brew group has ever created. Enjoy making this brew that
no one but the lucky homebrewer can create! Use a good domestic 6-row
malt (Great Western is what is local here in the North West), and good
German hops if you can find them. Corn dilutes the excessive protien
levels, but don't exceed 20% of grist volume. Use the steam yeast to
stay in style, and in the 50's F, the beer stays very clean (no esters).

Carbonation: | Force carbonated to 2.5 volumes | |||||||
Tasting: | Beer is clean, dry, and bright with an excellent head. Hop bittness balances slight sweetness from the corn. Hop aroma is slight, and the malt is at forefront. Beer is refreshing, and get at least 2.5 volumes of CO2 or flat beer will seem overly sweet and lifeless. We are very pleased with our effort. |
